The good news is, I've had a lot of people interested in talking. Challenging news - I want everyone to have the opportunity to be heard, but I don't know how to fit it in (and transcribe it all!) I have at least a dozen additional people that would like to be interviewed.
Place is so important - one time we were outside for quiet... it began to rain and be windy. Bookstore- noisy people sat right next to us. It's tough finding quiet places when you can use the library! (smile)
The ladies have been more talkative. The gentleman I interviewed today required much more prompting and probing questions. I'm already finding common themes after three interviews. Still trying to get the focus group set up - I just can't get their schedules coordinated.
I've found that now that I'm doing interviews, I've slacked on participation observation. I'm tending to focus on one rather than the other and not both at the same time. It makes me worried I won't have enough or the right material to produce a good project.
