Well, I feel so much better after our meeting Saturday! I had orginially been excited about this class, stressed myself out about the pre-assignments, and now I'm looking forward to it again. Although there are many ways I can be a positivist in some situations, I'm certainly more of a naturalist... always asking why? but what if the situation were different? why do people perceive the same message in different ways?
Anyway... my plan is now to ask my boss if I can proceed with studying my organization. If for some reason that will not be allowed, I will fall back on one of my original thoughts - communication and its impact on philanthropy. Maybe throughout my studies I'll be able to tackle both, because I'm really curious about the philanthropic topic, having been a fundraiser for years.
All I can say is... thank goodness our research proposals weren't for a grade! :-) It was great to meet all of you. We seem like a dynamic group. Good luck revising your proposals. My husband always said I would be a good detective - I guess we'll see!
